You would enjoy "Undead and... " series by Mary Janice Davidson. They're paranormal romance, and some of her vampire lore is really original. The main charcter is really appealing, too. Those are great.

Another good one is "Kitty and the Midnight Hour" by Carrie Vaughn. Her initial premise, a call-in show for closeted supernatural beings (the main character's a werewolf), works really well and is super fun. And there's a lot of werewolf and vampire stuff going on, too.

EDIT: And also the Southern Vampire series, by Charlaine Harris.

Here are some of the best vampire works I have read that I think you would enjoy too:

Primarily for Young Adults:
Sweetblood by Pete Hautman
Midnight's Choice by Kate Thompson, part of a trilogy that begins with “Switchers” and ends with “Wild Blood”
Companions of the Night by Vivian Vande Velde

If you just want to kill some time and have some fun reverting back to childhood, check out The Bailey School Kids series by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones. They have some humorous titles like "Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots" and "Dracula Doesn't Rock and Roll".

If you are mature enough, you might also enjoy:
Dracula by Bram Stoker
Mina by Marie Kiraly
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles
Kim Harrison’s Rachel Morgan series about a witch who is a bounty hunter and works with a vampire and a pixie
Carrie Vaughn’s Kitty Norville series about a werewolf radio talk show host
Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden series about a wizard private investigator in Chicago

Try the series The Diaries of the Family Dracul by Jeanne Kalogridis. It is a new twist on Dracula. Loved it. Another good one is The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Happy Reading.

Not really vampires... but some great fantasy for the summer, kind of like Lord of the Rings, but IMHO better is the original Shannara trilogy by Terry Brooks. Start with the Sword of Shannara.

I can't remember the name of the book, I think it's called "The Experiment", anyway there was a movie based from this book called The Island (with Ewan McGregor)only the book was way better. It's about a group of clones that are "raised" far away, that are harvested for their organs, and they look identical to the people that they are being "grown" for. Awesome book!!!!!

Anne Rice's vampires chronicles are great, Laurel K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series (the earlier ones, anyway) are fun and unique and Kresley Cole's vampire/valkyrie/werewolf stories are very sexy!

Dean Koontz is pretty good, I liked the Odd Thomas series but his other novels are equally good. The Historian might be one you'd like too, by Elizabeth Kostova.
