Are there certain avatars and people you look for to answer their questions first, or Do you just start from the top?

If I see someone I really like's avatar, I go for their question first (but I've usually got them on my contact list and click on their question as soon as I open up). Otherwise, I just look at questions that are interesting. Avatars do make a difference though.

I do a little of both, start out on the page with the people I look for, plus any I see that interest me. During the times that I've answered all on the page that I care to, I go through my network and get caught up with my friends.
