Colorado currently has 6 games remaining and 85 points. The highest number of points Colorado can finish with is 97. Should the Flames reach the 98 point mark, it's the end of the road for the Avs.
Generally speaking, the Avs need to win all of their remaining 6 games, and the Flames will have to go on a losing streak for the Avs to make the playoffs. But should the Flames win a few games....see you next fall, Avs.

yes they do. BUT the Flames and Avs each have 6 games remaining and the Flames only have to win 3 of their final 6 games. the most points the Avs can receive is 12 points and that would only give them 97 points for the season. the Flames are at 92 points as of now and with 3 wins can clinch that final playoff spot that would give them 98 points for the season. so the Avs chances of making this years playoffs are very, very slim.

There is still an extremely small chance. Unless the Flames collapse and the Avs stay hot, I don't see it happening.

It's a small chance but yes. They have to win out the rest of their games and get a little help. If Calgary wins 2 or 3 out of their last 6 games then its over.

If they beat Calgary both times then they still have 3 points to make up. The first hurdle though would be beating Calgary twice. Not looking good.

Yes, a slim one. I am rooting for them though because as a WIld fan, I do not want to see the Flames in the playoffs, they always have our number.

At this point I think it will be pretty hard. They have about 5 games left & basically need to win them all. I guess I sould have to say they wont sorry. Sakic is a great player, but they need to improve on goaltending next year.

If they were still in Quebec they would be, unless Calgary has a massive implosion, it seems unlikely they will be in the playoffs.
