Hi there - You have to be 18 (or maybe 16 with parental permission? Some places allow 'body work' if your 'rents say OK) Regarding the pain, it depends where you have it done. Its hurts most when it goes across bone, but even then, its not too bad. I have a strawberry tattoo on my lower left back, about 4in by 3in and it took about 2 hours to do, cost about £50 (I think, it was 8 years ago!). Im a wuss with pain but I hardly noticed it. Hope this helps, let me know if I can give more info! PS A red dragon? Very cool, what made you decide this?

OK i am 18 i am not going to say you shouldn't have one! i have got 4 so that would be hypocritical however i don't regret any of them! Can i just suggest you wait to ensure you want that particular tattoo- i recommend want it for 5 years because you will change a lot between 15 and 20. Also do not trust any advice anyone can give you online in regards to the price because lots of tattoo artists charge different amounts but remember you are paying for quality so if you are going to do it get a couple of quotes and see the artists work because it will be with you for a lifetime. Good Luck in whatever you choose!

The legal age is 18 but you can get one when you are younger if you get a parent to sign a form. Or if you dont look too young some places might do it for you, it depends on the place. It does hurt loads, like a needle scratching over and over on the same place, but the amount of pain depends on where you get it, over bone hurts much more than over muscle. Of course it is bareable pain or nobody would do it, but it does hurt. Your tatoo sounds like it would be around 125 dollars, but again that depends on where you get it done. THe best thing to do is to go and ask at a tattoo shop near you.

hey, a tatoo is something that you should definetly think about for awhile. you will have it for the rest of your life. you want it to be something that you will still love and be proud to have in 50 years. also you want it to be something you will not be ashamed to show your future wife and children. i know ur not quite thinking of that at your age. however, I honestly think it may be best to wait until you are 18 to get one. I am 18 now and thinking about it, but i really want it to be something i will love. a red dragon sounds nice providing you will be just as happy with it down the road. i do hear that red ink hurts the most because it has to go deeper into the skin to stay. the cost of a tatoo depend entirely on where you go, how much and how many different colors of ink you use, how many needles they need, how long it takes, and the size. it will cost quite a bit for a dragon of that size. also many parlors have a mandatory insurance charge. i know alot of the places where i am it is $60. it is also $10 for each needle and cost for ink and by the hour. i think you will be setting yourself back quite a bit. you may also want to start with something smaller first in case you really cannot handle being tatooed or have a nasty reaction. then go for something big like that once you know what you are in for. nobody likes a half finished tatoo.

good luck!

you will have to be 18 for a tattoo palour to legally give you a tattoo. please think veryyyyyyy carefully tho before you go ahead. im 25 and have 4 little ones. i really regret getting 2 of them done and wish id sat down and thought about it a little bit more before i got it done. but of course at that age i thought i knew everything and well ya know. nothing wrong with a tattoo just make sure its one you wont get fed up with and look at with resentment. sorry no idea about the price - if its your own design will cost a little bit more i think esp depending on the detail etc
oh and yes they do hurt abit. also again depends which part of the body you gunna get it on. some parts hurt a heck of alot more than others but it is still painful

Legal age here in Scotland is 18.

I got mine at 19. It all depends on where you go, I got mine done at a tattoo parlour down Leith walk in Edinburgh about 11 years ago and it cost me £60. Now it'll be much more now... probably about £100 give or take.

It did hurt but it felt good! My friend got one done on his arm and it didn't hurt as much as it did on my back as it was close to the spine (more nerves & muscle there).

My tattoo took 2 hours... I thought it was bad with the outlining but the colouring in part was the worse. Felt like the artist was scraping my flesh off. haha.

Call me crazy but I'll do it all over again! Do take in consderiation on what you want as it may be easy to get it inked on but harder to take it off (and costs more).

It will cost A LOT if you have it done at a good place. ($500)
I believe you must be 18 and I don't think they hurt at all. Well black outline may, but not the colors. I think you should be 18 to make sure this is what you want (not judging I have 2 myself)
