Because "liberal" is one of the common attack words that means "people who want to do things we don't like".

Yahoo may be rep but the contributors who express themselves may happen to be Dem's.-
Those who say it confounds Y! with the contribute rs who generally express Dem views.

I think Y! can't do much about that one.
