yes in nottingham but it isnt that much quicker it deepends how far from the exchange you are and various other factors.

I have 8mb broadband in Hull, England but when I check it on a download speed tester the most I have ever got is 6mb download.

I got 8mb Sky Broadband in Swindon, but it 5-7Mb speed but fast and for just £5 per month.im lovin it!

Comcast up here (chicago - west burbs) ... it isn't advertised but you can call and ask for it....
I upgraded to it for about a month, but i couldn't justify the extra cost. It wasn't much faster, the faster downstream didn't do much, but the upstream raised to 768K did help, especially when doing things like serving or torrenting.

i have bt 8meg broadband but sometimes it still runs slow. plus i am about half a mile from the bt exchange building

Sorry, my only choices are 5MB, 15MB, and 30MB via Verizon FiOS. I haven't seen anyone advertising 8MB.
