a good time would be if shes able to finish the mile and walk off the track under her own power. shes only as good as the people who are coaching her. but my guess would be, find out what the world record is by the pros, and add on 2-3 minutes and she is excellent. :)

It will vary from runner to runner. If her coach is trained in track, he/she should be able to tell her whether her time is below, above or at average. Generally for ages 12-14, I believe, the time will be between 7-11 minutes.
Experience and physical health will help determine her pace, time, and endurance as well. Nobody is exactly consistent in times from race to race.
In 7th grade, she is still developing coordination and skill. Practice, time, exercise, and patience will help her increase her speed and skill.

I scanned some sites on the internet, and it appears that 6 minutes would be quite respectable for a 7th grade girl.
