That is a great question. There are many conservatives/patriots that hate the fact that we buy junk from China. However, since Nixon's administration, China has become integrated into our economy. Many commentators believe Nixon was trying to introduce capitalism to the Chi-coms so that they'd eventually realize how much better it was for their economy. Also, that China would be dependant on the U.S. and therefore would be left apt to attack us.

Also many mid-Eastern governments essentially control the oil industry in their country. So I would consider that non-private industry ie: state sponsored. Since China is a socialist/communist nation they would also not have much free reign over their goods either. Even if their markets were free, they collect taxes from sales and/or tariffs and therefore their government would benefit from selling goods to the U.S.

Wal-Mart also is a private company competing against Target, K-Mart, Costco, etc. Wal-Mart's goods may be from China, but so are all of those other companies. Wal-Mart just gets a bad rap because they are the most profitable and socialists/democrats/communists/leftists are naturally against anything capitalist due to their envy. Also, not everything at Wal-Mart is produced in China. Lastly, it's becoming more and more difficult to find things at any store not produced in China. Most of your retail producs are as well as things where you don't see a point of orgin such as canned foods and construction materials.

Actually, there are many organizations and groups that are out there with information that is anti Walmart as well. Do a search for "Is Walmart good for America."
That may not be cheap China goods Vs oil but the China made commodities have been around for a couple decades and but only since Walmart has it been an overwhelming amount of the items bought in America (hmmm what is that telling people)

Nationalistic over OIL? If we were nationalistic over oil, it wouldn't be so darn expensive right now. Many have tried to get the country together on that issue to no avail. Says volumes for the economy. Maybe everyone can afford it but me. As for Walmart selling junk. That is like asking why do so many people by Hondas and Toyotas over Cadillacs?

Because oil drives the country. Do you watch Jericho on CBS? Could you imagine having to ration oil like that? I think not. You can't do anything about it (assuming you don't live in the cities. The nearest grocery store for me is over 10 miles away and if you ask somebody about a taxi, they look at you like you're retarted). You always have the option of shopping at a mom and pops store. You aren't being forced to shop at Walmart.

Because we need gas in order to get to walmart lol. The value and demand for gas is much higher and more valuable than it is for the different array of things at Walmart. If you can't drive to work you won't be able to buy anything there.. Oil is def. state sponsored. Another thing that is subsidized is nuclear power...now wait..why is nuclear power and oil subsidized, but wind and solar isn't? strange..

There are quite a few people up in arms against Wal-Mart, and the way they wipe out smaller stores in any area that they move into by selling inferior products at cheaper prices.

And it's 'sponsored'.

Well there is a department of energy but there isnt a department of retail junk.

It may not be state sponsored but there is definitely government involvement.

Because the anti Wal Mart movie wasn't cool enough for these trend setters.

Because people are typically uninformed and have a very distorted view of the world. They prefer to think inside the box.

i just assume it's because people are stupid. Not ignorant, just stupid. They know Wal-Mart is bad, but they always say "but i can get it cheaper at Wal-Mart" (when that is *precisely* why Wal-Mart is bad and they shouldn't shop there). They want instant gratification and it works out well for their greedy selves, so they don't care what kind of long term damage it's doing to them or their country.
