My son is in Kilby, A Prison in Alabama. He had a court appointed attorney. This attorney wont take any calls from him. Nor will he talk to me. He goes to cussing and hangs the phone up on me. All I do is ask a question and Ive been shock at his behavior!
My son has been in jail, sentence, under another name. In fact I cant even send him mail in his own name. They even changed his AIS Number. What Im asking is there something to be done? I dont have the money for attorney. Im at a loss at what can be done.
Is there someone to call? If not how do I get this other attorney to set this record strait.

He didnt use an Alias. He didnt do the crime. Even if he did do the crime dont you think being sentence in any state you should be sentence under your own name. Or they need to prove your the one. This was a major mistake. I sent off a letter to the state bar complaints office and ILL let you know what they say.

You need to call the newspaper, the news, any media you can get your hands on. Call the Alabama Bar Association, and report your attorney immediately.

Why and how did it get this far, if he didn't have an alias or use and alias, where did the other name come from and if the attorney didn't do his job from jump, if you are paying him, why did you keep him. In the US each state has an Ethics Committee which is the agency you would go to report what you would feel is mistreatment by your attorney regarding your case and the handling of same. How long has your son been in jail, when did you realize all of this was going on. Okay you are in Alabama, which has had it's judicial problems in the past, if it is as bad as you say, contact a local news or radio station or some other news agency that deals with this type of problem. I am also sure there are prisoner advocates that can be contacted as well.

you have to go to the court clerks office and talk to them about getting another public Pretnder (another name for public defender/attorney) this happens to alot of people the public atterony's usally suck and on top of that they have like 1,000 cases a month and way to many people to deal with thats why he wont talk to you i place the blam 50/50 half him and half the way the courts are set up, i cant quite follow what your saying about the name thing, has he had a legal change of name? was he prosocuted under another name other than his own? there's a lot to this stuff, if you get a good attorney you can get out of anything/ oh ALCU like th guy above said does a lot for people in jail

Kilby Prison in Alabama is receiving and processing. You can call up there and speak with DOC to get things strainghten out, but they don't want to help. So call the JUDGE that sentenced him. You need to try and get this fixed before he gets moved to another prison. CALL THE JUDGE

First you need to call the alabama bar and report this attorney. Then need to see if you can have them recommend another one for you, tell them your story. This is wrong for your son. He should not be under any other name but the name that is his.
I hope this help you.

the system is made to be against the people. The court appointed attorneys try harder to get you convicted than they try to defend you. The whole system is a clusterf*ck.
Prisons have become dark dungeons and innocent people go there every day, because they couldn't afford a descent attorney.

Your son probably gave an alias name when he got arrested. This happens a lot, I guess they think those little things called fingerprints aren't going to blow their cover...duh. Anyhow, if that's the case, he's probably stuck with it until he gets out.

One of two things suggest themselves: the most likely is your jail-bird son turned informer on other jail-birds and they have him under another name so he doesn't get a shiv stuffed under his ribs. The second is his LEGAL name is not what you have been using.

Ok first did your son do the crime??? Second if he did the crime be happy its under someones name. So when he gets out he can still get a job. If he didn't do it i'm sorry to hear that i would kill someone if i was him. At best you need to contact a lawyer in your state and tell him the case.
