Hi, your ideal world would be a wonderful place. The idea of no poverty, no illness, no wars, and everyone always happy seems to be a great place. With that said, I will first say my next responses are, of course, founded on my own personal spiritual belief system. As such, others may have very different ideas and thoughts on the matter, and those thoughts and ideas are as valid as my own. I am sure you have your own spiritual foundation too, so please keep this in mind as you read my response and what others have to say. If they actually take the time to explain their beliefs and why they believe the way they do.
Ok, first I am a Christian. That provides you with a basis to follow along on my belief system at least to the level you understand Christiananity. You may understand a great deal, or nothing at all, as I don't know you any more than you do me, and all I have to go by is what you wrote in your question.
I firmly believe we have all the negitive things in this life because we wouldn't be able to fully understand, let alone appreciate happiness unless we experiance unhappiness or the negitive things in life. I believe that God wishes us to have "The Fullness of Joy", and in order to enable us to have this we must first experiance those things which are the opposite of Joy.
I also believe firmly that we are here to learn to accept one another. I believe we are to "Love our neighbor as ourselves". In order to do this God had to make it difficult. It would be easy to accept others if they were exactly like ourlseves. Learning to accept others requires there be great differences. So, God made many people different. There are different skin colors, different societies, different religious beliefs, different levels of intellegence, diffence levels of astetic beauty or lack there of. He made people think differently and gave us all choice.
In order to have choice He had to give us Free Will. Free Will means each of us has to be able to choose good or bad, behave in fashions which harm nobody or harm many. This is why people choose to commit atrocities, which comes from the negitive choices they make. They do so out of perversions they allow free reign, rape, rob, steal, cheat, molest, etc. Their victems then can choose to allow the experiance to impact their lives negitively forever, or to forgive, grow from the experiance and gain much.
We experiance negitive in order to grow. Without negitive things occurring in our lives we could not ever really appreciate the good things in life, the moments of joy, such as the smile in our childs eyes, love of our families, and many more wonderful things life holds.
I understand how difficult it is to view all of the ugliness life holds, but without that ugliness we really would be unable to recognize the beauty around us and appreciate it as we should. We couldn't really understand or experiance the Fullness of Joy and all the wisdom we gain as we grow in this life.
We come into this world with nothing, however, when we leave we take with us all we gained and added to our souls. If we added wisdom, kindness, understanding, forgiveness, nonjudgemntalness, etc that is what we take with us, and with it an understanding and experiance of the Fullness of Joy. If we gained ugliness, hurt others, lied, stole, cheated, we take that with us and we are unable to appreicate or experianc the Fullness of Joy. It is up to each individual to choose what they wish to add to their soul, and I choose to add as much goodness as possible. I wish to stand in front of my God clothes in while and innocent of wrong doing, without shame or fear.
Thank you for this quesiton and I wish you well on your journey through this life. With questions such as this you will do very well. Have a great day!

Not without a major action by God himself. That's not because God is mean or wants us unhappy, but because we are sinful. Every one of us, you and I included, have sin in our hearts. It is a result of sin that there are all those terrible things in the world.
But some day God will wipe away every tear, will redeem humanity and the horrors of this world. That's a great thing to look forward to!
To the person who said that art comes out of pain: This is true, but only because this is a fallen sinful world. Without the presence of sin, the art and poetry that will result can not even be dreamed of today.

Yes. Not simply a possibility but a reality on the way ... but not for everybody. As you can tell, there are scads of people in the world who militate against just that sort of thing. Some even do it nine to five, get paid, and even think it a patriotic act!

No. And even if it were, I wouldn't want to live there. Some of our best movies, music, poetry, and books have come out of pain and suffering.

But would you want to live in it?
Would the people be laughing because they were happy (how would they know they were happy?) or because they had all gone mad?
