They do not care who wins as long as they generate interest and votes. As was recently revealed, they planted the girl who cried through the WHOLE show but only showed her when Sanjaya sang. They made up this whole - hair - business. If you want him off, stop voting all together. Don't vote for others to make him lose - that is playing into Idol's hands! If their audience is lost, they'll get rid of him!

i think it would be a bad idea for them to manipulate you into voting for the worst singer. i think that if sanjaya wins, american idol will lose it's appeal and the show will be over with.

AI is a reality TV show. That's it. And I think it's hilarious that Sanjaya is still there, not even in the bottom 3! I'm sure it's making the producers shake in their boots that a "singer" like him might get a record deal. If Sanjaya is that bad, why did they allow him to even go to Hollywood after auditions? Why did they pick him to go on to the top 24? Give me a break, every thing AI producers do, they do for ratings! And if Sanjaya gets into the finale, then they all deserve it. Geez, people, don't take it so seriously, it's just a TV show for crying out loud!

They DID show the little girl crying when other contestants sang. I particularly noticed that they showed her crying when Melinda was singing because I commented on it. She wasn't planted, they invited her to see the show because she was so very excited.
Relax and have fun watching the show. He'll go eventually; I'm certain he's got Teen Idol in his future. His voice can be fixed in the studio.
