I have been watching and reading questions in various sections on here and so many people seem to be jumping onto a bandwagon, claiming their human rights are being abused, how many of them have actually looked up the Human Rights Acts to begin with, It makes me so angry when they trivialise the acts by brandishing so called abuses on here!
How many of you have actually looked them up, studied them, read them and understood them ??

For the record I have, and I currently have three cases against Spain lodged with Brussels and am preparing two more, so I do know what I am talking about!

Gabbie, you're not smart, but by cutting and pasting, you have begun to educate the masses, thank you!

I wouldnt say I know nothing on the sunject, but neither would I get into a debate about them, as I do not know enough to comment....

If you know what I mean

I would not waste my time talking about 'abuses' on here being an infringement (is that the right word?) of my human rights, because at the end of the day its just a 'fun/silly website', which shouldn't be taken as seriously as it sometimes is.

People shouldnt comment on things they know nothing about!

The only ones who do understand and do know how to use the Act are lawyers....nice little earner too for lots of prisoner cases in Scotland and on legal aid too.
So the taxpayer has the honour of both paying the legal bill the compensation and the care for these guys during their incarceration.
It only proves one thing the law is for lawyers....rich ones at that sooner we have a proper overhaul of legal aid in civil cases the better.

As long as no-one tries to take away my right to a cold pint of Stella after a hard day at the office I couldn't give too cahoots!!!

That's about the only pleasure i've got left to enjoy in this country cause Blair + Brown are making damn sure that the ordinary hard working person like me doesn't get anywhere in life cause some sod is always taking huge slices of my wages through bleeding taxes and rates.

Legally, rights arise from the protections afforded by law.

That means, specific statutes, case holdings by high courts, and any constitution (or equivalent) a nation or state/province may have. These, of course, vary by the country and state/province.

No, most people don't know what the laws are, how they work, or what is and is not protected in their country. It's rather sad.

look up all the acts you want too but when it gets down to basics there's a lot of questions need answering. Reading the book can be ok but its the practical side of life that has most of the answers, even some of the politicians get lost in all the jargon.
