Just how much are the French involved in this.

From the liberation of these countries in the first world war by British Soldiers the French have been sticking their oar in.

They stopped the Kurds having their own country

We have had to look after these folk time again and getting pissed on every time.

Remember Cherac gave Saddam Atomic materals so that Elf could have cheap oil.

They gave him our plans during the 1st. Gulf war.

They will do anything to humiliate the UK, especialy when they can get a kick back.

Iran is using this episode as a test case to gauge the sentiments of the British public and to see how the British government would react to a minor crisis. In effect, they want to see how far they can push the UK's buttons. I doubt they would have pulled such a stunt against the US, as the Bushies might just be crazy enough to start something.

Iran has captured these hostages in order to humiliate them and make them look weak and lily livered by forcing the woman to make statements against the UK government, so they can show to their people on tv, propaganda that the British are weak and don't want to fight the war.
They will release them eventually.
They are excellent at playing mind games with the world and their own people.

To bad democracy is not threatened. Democracy is an American notion (and not even done well by America)
Since when does every country have to do things the way of America, countries are different and lots of people enjoy those differences and don't want America pushing their views on them.

Either way the British soldiers were in some water and they were taken prisoner by Iran. They are arguing whether they were in an area they were supposed to be or not (Ie: Iranian water or Iraqi water).

If There were soldiers walking around the American boarders you know they would be detained as well. But Iran is the bad guy for watchign out for themselves.

Well the things are not very clear yet,and probably never will...Iranians captured 15 British sailors and marines...The Iranians are saying that the Brits were 0,5 km inside Iranian waters, while the British are saying that they were 3,6 km inside Iraqi waters when they were captured...Each part it's accusing the other of breaking international law...

Iran says they were in Iranian water... when the coordinates Iran gave everyone were shown to be in Iraqi water, the Iranians changed the coordinates by 600 yards.

Mr Blair is desperate for votes and a new conflict will set his party up for another term in office, just like the Falklands did for Maggie T.
Iran should be very careful.
