I had to tweak my user name because it was showing up as "Lonely *******". That wasn't the case before.

Dictionary.com defines 'b a s t a r d' as follows:
1. a person born of unmarried parents; an illegitimate child.

More than likely it became a bad word when people realized it was considered one in the Bible. You will find a lot of truly religious people link it along with the F-word and others.

I know makes no sense but a lot of stuff about this world doesn't make sense.

******* has taken on an offensive meaning because people have been using it to offend; just like so many other words that are not offensive, but have become offensive because of people abuse of the word. Take gay for example. It means happy, but now it is used by the homosexual community to describe their agenda. Thats abusing the word. There are numerous examples of this in our world.

It's always been a bad word. Not because of the definition, but because of the way it's used. The definition for the B word is a female dog, and it's a bad word also. Society has made them bad words.

When people started using it as a derogatory term, like 'spaz' 'retard' and 'mong' were just scientifical nicknames for certain conditions.. but because people threw the names at each oter to cause offence, they've all become "bad-words".

My rule of thumb is: if it sounds awful coming out of a 3 yr old's mouth, then it's a "bad word"!

I have no idea when others decided it was a bad word, but for me it was when my grandmother decided to tell my son that he was one. I wonder why it takes evil-hearted people so long to die?
