I first heard "Happy Christmas" some time in the 80's, used by Britons.

don't you get fed up with christmas starting earlier every year? I was driving by a row of houses on 5th January & they already had their decorations up! I mean, why don't they have christmas in July, when the shops are less crowded?
Or if christmas was delayed a bit, we could all give each other chocolate eggs! Yey - gift problem solved!

No, sir. I say this sometimes, as it is the old way of Merry Christmas.

Nope, I have a very sarcastic family. It was my birthday a few weeks ago and my Grandfats [Grandad] hugged me and said
" 'P Chris'mas Nik, 'n' a crappy new year! " and my Nan said "Happy easter." =]
But Happy Christmas to you too.

No, you're way behind time. I use it at the most inappropriate times including mid-January.
