Might be nice if there were some way to give a sort of thumbs-down to a question, yes...sort of the opposite of a star.

Yes, and even those stupid questions that people keep repeating. I frequent the Pets - Fish section and I wanted to hurt the fifth person who asked if fish sleep -- in one day! I actually gave a big, BIG thumbs up to the guy who did a search in Yahoo Answers for that same question and posted the link as his answer.
Some repetitive questions are good, though. Like your favorite movie. By seeing new movies constantly, your favorite movie changes every so often. So, questions like that, I think, are good to repeat.
