Assume units are in cm.
Area of rectangle = L x B cm ²
Area of square = L x L = L² cm ²
Area of circle = π.r ² cm ² where r is radius.
Example 1
Rectangle of sides 7cm and 4cm
Area = 7 x 4 cm ²
Area = 28 cm ²

Example 2
Square of side 5 cm
Area = 5 x 5 cm ²
Area = 25 cm ²

Example 3
Circle radius 6 cm
Area = π x 6 x 6 cm ²
Area = 36 π cm ²
Area = 113.1 cm ²

There are different formulas for calculating area, depending on what you are finding the area of.

[text:square] = a^{2}

[text:rectangle] = ab

[text:parallelogram] = bh

[text:trapezoid] = h/2 (b1 + b2)

[text:circle] = pi r 2

[text:ellipse] = pi r1 r2

[text:triangle] = (1/2) b h

Also there is a site where you enter the info and it calculates the area for you. See the link I provided.

Usually you just times the height by the width, unless its a circle then the area equals pie times the radius squared

Depends on what it is
If it's a square, Area = Length^2
If it's a rectangle, Area = Length*Width
If it's a triangle, Area = 1/2 * Base * Height
