why is it that guys and girls in the streets get arrested for prostitution and no one gets arrested when online they offer sexual pleasures? Example. Craigslist on the EXOTICS page, men and women are offering sex for money. Isn't that considered prostitution?

Cops don't have time re resources to go after the online action.... they have more important work to do... but action in the streets is very visible and they get alot of pressure to clean that up.

Because it's often difficult to prove that any illegal conduct actually occurred. Prostitution is sex for money.

Solicitation is asking for money to have sex. And solicitation is not illegal in all states. So, combined that with the fact that many posting as anonymous, and that (in most cases) nobody is getting hurt by prostitution, and it becomes not worth the effort for many police departments to spend a lot of time tracking people down when it's difficult to prove it.

It could be considered solicitation. But presumably, if you are having cybersex, you'd be giving yourself sexual pleasure and I don't think that is a crime. If you meet the person and have sex for money, that is indeed prostitution.

So, you see anything that is tempting there?

bottom line is that it's not against the law. the internet is by federal jurisdiction. prostitution laws are at the state or county level.
