(x-1)(x-2) = x^2 - 3x + 2
(x-a)(x-b) = x^2 -bx -ax +ab
(x-a)(x-b)(x-c) = x^3 - ax^2 - bx^2 - cx^2 + abx + acx + cbx - abc
(x-a)(x-b)(x-c)(x-d) = etc etc etc... got the pattern?
now solve this:
what is (x-a)(x-b)(x-c)...(x-z) = ?

0, zero that is
because in the series, you have (x-x) and everything multiplied by zero is zero
MODIFY: What the heck ppl? This obviously is NOT kishmi's homework. It is just a normal smoke and mirror type puzzle.
Kishmi added all those details of algebric product to hide the answer from those not perceptive enough to see through the mental fog of all those algebric identities. And she has really succeeded, and you have made fools of yourselvs.
And why all the hate msgs?

kishimii not nice person!
kishimii want people who are only helpful to do hideous amount of work to help her, then want laugh at them when she say problem equal 0.
kishimii not nice person!
Seriously, what a scummy thing to try to do. Too bad your ambition for evil presented such a miserably long bit of typing... no one bothered to do it before realizing your little wickedness. Next time, maybe try one with JUST A LOT OF WORK, not a monstrous amount of work, so the challenge of having the patience to do it (the typing that is), the challenge of keeping the detail perfect and the challenge of ordering the terms more clearly than you did is within the realm of something a person might be willing to do. I assume, you know, you will come to a next time.
What kind of parents and friends does someone like you have?

Heck, girl, you have like four variables there, and only one equation. I don't really think you're asking for someone to do your homework for you -- you're smarter than that, or you wouldn't have this kind of thing on your homework page. Why don't you reduce it as far as you can, and then come back if you still have a problem?

Since one of the terms would be (x-x) and that would equal zero, the whole expression would equal 0.

The answer is 0 since you have (x-a)(x-b)(x-c)...(x-x)...(x-z), and since (x-x) = 0, then everything else you multiply it by will equal 0.
