It's being built on a 5 acre lot. He bull dozed down the 2 million dollar mansion that was on the lot because..well..it was too small. Why do people find this so disgusting? Sure, teachers only make 40k but they get 3 months off for the summer.

its because they are jealous. they find that its unfair they work hard for 15 dollars an hour while someone plays a sport and makes millions. alot of people envy athletes because of this. that thing is the same people who complain about these "stars" making millions are the same people who are too lazy to make themselves better financially
honestly any one of us would do the same thing with that kind of cash.

People always want to the rich helping the less fortunate, but i think that 's wrong because everyone can help someone. If you do not want King James to spend that kind of money than those people should watch him play in the stadiums or on tv, afterall that's how he makes a paycheck. Almost everyone that lives in North America waste extra money somehow like buying extra clothes that we never use, or buy a meal at a restaurant that is really expensive. People need to live him a lone or just dont watch him on tv.

It is sickening because it's all a waste of natural resources. He's an uneducated man playing just a sport. Barely graduated from high school just to chase the millions in the NBA. All of these athletes are building their egos cause they want to out-do the other. Why don't they give their money to their mother country who are dying and living in poverty. Lebron better be careful about this "King James" business. The only King is God and this ego he has better come down to earth. You cannot go against the face of God and calling yourself King. Whats destroying our earth is these celebrities that are owing multiple cars and homes that are ruining out planet. Screw all of them.

we all know teachers dont make nearly what they should, neither do our soldiers and people in and supporting the military...that unfortunately is just how it is...we live in a society where more emphasis (therefore money) is spent on entertainment (of all kinds, including sports)...as for his mansion, thats his business...he gets paid what the market bears for his services...the haters should just live with it...do I agree, NO...but I do know that is how it is and that no petty jealousy or complaining as a single citizen will ever make inroads into this injustice...I worked for the American military overseas...our kids over there deserve much more than the wage they earn to get spit on in foreign lands and be away from their families (or even to die or be crippled), and i totally agree about teachers...I was a teachers aide for years...unrecognized heros...doing what others wont with sub par resources...often having to implement with instructing materials out of their own pockets...

My hangup is that no one needs a home that large. Think of all the wasted natural resources just to pump up his ego. Think of all the green house gasses created in the process of manufacturing all the building materials for a house that size, not to mention all of the stuff he will put in it. Somewhere, along the line, people have to start thinking about taking care of this planet. If not for ourselves...then for future generations.

Im sure all the labourers, archietects, interior designers, furniture stores, electronic stores etc in the area are glad he is spending it in such a way....
Spending your $$$s is one way of investing it into the community, even if its indirect.
Buying a house that already exists and keeping it as is, would help a real estate agent and a seller...thats it.

I agree. You should enjoy it if you have it. What else do we work for?
There was a similar thread about this on RootZoo.com yesterday and most came to the same conclusion as you and I. Check out the site, you'll like it.

Look at all the homeless people, sick children, people that are dying every day and you don't find it sickening that because someone that can throw a ball around needs something like that? I won't go to a NFL game anymore because I don't want my money going to a bunch of millionaires that don't really earn their money.

I really could care less about him building a house that's his personal business. He needs to be more concerned about what he and his team is going to do in the playoffs.
