Take it back immediately and have them give you a new monitor. It sounds like a built-in flaw and you may have ended up with a lemon. Quite often returns are repackaged and resold to the unsuspecting public. We bought a brand new expensive computer from Circuit City and we experienced problems. Then we found pictures and file on the hard drive of a previous owner. That was a shock. Since we had just bought it, we were able to return it and get a new computer.

RMA the unit. Most resellers have a 30 or so day policy on DOA products.

Since, this happened the first time you used it, it is DOA.

Hi. Return it, in my opinion.
