Copy and pasted answers bug the crap out of me, especially when somebody copies/pastes *another answer* right there on the same page. Come on, either you have an answer to the question or you *don't*. -_-
But....I do have a slight preference for longer answers. (duh)
And I know that annoys folks, but it annoys *me* to see someone put the time and effort in to ask a good Question, only to get half a dozen lame, one-liner "yes, no, idk" kinds of things that look like *Prince lyrics* because folks can't be bothered to capitalize their words, use punctuation, *or* spell out small words like "you" or "are". o_O
I would much rather have a *good Answer* instead, regardless of length. If you can Answer the Question in one line, do it, but if it takes 4-5 paragraphs and a few links, *don't* be afraid to do that too, I will still read it if it isn't an obvious copy/paste job that goes on (Hint: if the paragraph count is in the *double digits* nobody will read it....9 or less please) and on.
But Yeah, longer, more complete Answers for me, and at least have the decency to *put some of it in your own words*, ok? ^_^
Thanks for your time!

I hate both short, smart-a** answers AND copy-and-pasted answers stolen out of wikipedia or wherever. However, I do like long, well-thought answers that show someone is really thinking about the question.

Short and sweet. Copy and pasted answers don't bug me. I admit that I have done that before.

Short, unless the person is having a real hard time with something then I would get into more detail.
Cut and paste bugs me!

I like a creative answer long with lots of words like a pleasant conversation. Even if it is wordy you can get a sense of being connected to other people with out having interact too much and stay fairly anonymous. It's like your cared about, but not overly so and you never really have to interact with that other person. I like long answers because it means they took the time out of there busy schedule just to answer a question and that is a thing to be cherished. Time is priceless. But cut and pasted answers I can leave them they don't bother me, but they show a lack of creative thinking and I'm not partial to it.

i go for long answers because long answers could mean more explanation and better understanding for the asker. long answers also means elaborationg on vague issues and giving more examples. long answers are definitely good.and long answers mean more effort given by the answerer. and also the question has been interesting for the answerer. and you what which would you prefer - long or short?

depends on the question, it is easier to pick a best answer with more then a yes or no answer.
I don't like cut and paste answers especially when they are not related at all to my question.

I hate long essay answers. It's so annoying, nobody wants to really sit there and read the longest answer in the world.
