My gf of 4 yrs and I broke up a few months ago. It was kind of mutual but I was pushing it a little more. We've remained friends but recently shes been telling me that its too hard to be friends and that we need to either get back together or she's going to move on. I took this as sort of an ultimatum and felt that I couldn't be pressured into making a decision like that. I'd get back with her but I just have this gut feeling that I need to be on my own for a while. Also I feel if I was pressured to get back together it would be for the wrong reasons and the relationship would suffer in the long run. Well it turns out she is moving on and that we can't talk anymore. She says theres no chance we'll get back together but for some reason I'm still optimistic that there is a chance. Am I an idiot who just made the biggest mistake of his life or should I stick to my feelings that now is not the right time? Is there a chance she didn't mean it that there's no chance of getting back together?

who really knows?? stick to your gut feeling, if you do get back before YOU are ready, then it would just be out of pity, allow her to move on, she's just hurt, and it is difficult to start again after being with 1 peron for sooooo long. you need space to find you again.

No i think that you analyzed it very responsibly.People shouldn't feel or be pressured to make decisions like that. And she gave you a hard cookie to chew and since she couldn't wait she made the decision for you though that would make me question her motive. Was she really sincere?I can't answer that question on whether the two of you will get back together but i can however hope that you find happiness in whatever you pursue in life!

properly, there is not any thanks to understand at present if that is the right decision or no longer. depending on the small volume of information presented, my gut reaction is that that is in all likelihood the neatest ingredient you may do. the guy lives 2 hundred miles away and is in love with somebody else. Be sensible. come across a guy who lives close to you, and who isn't in love with somebody else. once you've such solid thoughts for him, even with the reality that, being acquaintances isn't wise. safeguard the friendship and also you'll wager, once you're on the phone with him, that there is a set of shoulder shrugging and eye rolling happening on his end. do no longer make a fool of your self. move on.

Yes you are an idiot but not for the reasons you think.

You are better off without her, she was selfish and controlling. No guy needs that in a women. However you are weak and immature, that you are whining over her is why you are an idiot.

Sounds like you are a coward. Afraid to make a decision... do HER a favor and let her go.
