I don't particularly like my grammar or spelling being corrected, but then I always make an effort to use things like punctuation and capitalization.

I do NOT like reading things with blatant grammar and punctuation problems. I don't care if I can figure out what you want because I probably won't keep reading long enough to find out.

If you want to be taken seriously on the internet, at least make a minimal effort to capitalize and punctuate your sentences. Otherwise people will just assume you're an idiot kid looking for attention and too lazy to care.

I hate it. I also hate it when thye ask hundreds of questions about why people make the mistakes on answers. If they are that prim and proper that they can't deal with some random humanity perhaps they should stick with their local newspapers they are filled with typos too! I hate feeling like I'm in English class when I'm on here. All errors in this answer are intentional I hope I drive them crazee!

No because I have superior writing and grammar skills so people don't correct me. I do occasionally point out the ones that make one look stupid, like using an apostrophe for plural. To wit: "We all got into the car's and went to the game." Not correct, apostrophes are for possession and conjunction only.

The thing to keep in mind is that the person correcting you may be doing you a favor. Poor grammar / spelling is generally interpreted as a lack of intelligence. At least I think it still is, somewhat hard to gauge in today's dumbed-down society.

Typo is one thing - happens to all. Other errors can be rectified before posting (Now, watch someone picking up mine!)
Anyway, as long as I get the answer, I don't mind the correction - I can learn from it.
But, I hasten to add, I do not do it to others, unless I know them well.

I think you miss the point.
If people can't be bothered to spell their questions correctly (and there is plenty of opportunity to do so), then why should they expect others to answer their question.
I find that about 99% of the questions posted on Yahoo! are illiterate.
It's insulting, and a sad indication of the education of the users.

Yeah don't need um telling me how to spell, I spell it the way I see fit if I wanted it done properly I would use spell check. The way I spell things is part of my personallity and if you heard me say it in flat coonass slang it would sound worst than it is spelled.

Geez, is using the spell check really that difficult?

I don't mind the occasional spelling or grammar faux pas, but some of these folks come off as borderline illiterate.

Well, it doesn't happen to me because I know how to spell AND how to use spell check but it does get a little annoying watching everyone elses spelling mistakes getting pointed out.

it bothers me because there is a spell check , the grammar thing doesn't tho, and i like to shorten some words like i just did with though, things like mixing up letters in a word really upsets me or you know its just bothersome things.

It's just proper to double check your spelling with your "Check Spelling right above your Q!A box.
