My teeth are discolored from smoking which I quit doing. I've tried all the dentist and at home whitening procedures and kits and veneers are the next step. They aren't rotten at all and I see the dentist 3X a year which is way more than most. They are also very straight from good orthodonics as a kid. I'm saving for veneers. I'm otherwise very attractive with a great body, hair, eyes and so forth. It is my biggest flaw. I say, no one is perfect! However, I rarely smile and I know that makes me appear either snobby or shy but it's 'cause I'm self-conscious. Can anyone say anything to boost my confidence?

Overly white teeth scare me and everyone's teeth can only change so much in color due to genetic factors. Plus I read that teeth that are too white from bleaching and whiteners can have weaker enamel and are more sensitive which could cause more harm down the line. My teeth aren't blindingly white and I get compliments on my smile just because I do show it, even if your teeth aren't perfect, people would rather see you happy then frowning and insecure
I think that you should get the veneers when you can afford them. While not all men will care too much about teeth as long as they are brushed and not falling out, if your confidence is docked from this, I would be fixing it mainly for yourself. For the time being, just keep your chin up and remember that even some confidence is better than being full of insecurities and self doubt. Good luck honey.

I'm not a guy, but I think that teeth are part of the equation when talking about attractiveness in people in general. I think that people a lot of times can't help crooked teeth (and can't afford braces) but yellow teeth? Sorry, but that's gross in my opinion. You can have a pretty face & bangin' body & have jacked up teeth, and I'm gonna look at you like ... uhhhhhhhh ... and move on, and I'm a girl. This may not be as important to some/guys, but you can't help but think about what it's like to kiss someone & their teeth/mouth looks gross. But that's just me.
I know you wanted a boost of confidence, but ... I have to be honest ...
All you can do is be yourself, and don't worry, cause some people/guys aren't going to care & if you have a nice smile other wise (you should smile more often as there is nothing you can do about it right now) some guy may be attracted to you & you may be missing out by being too self conscious about it. Ultimately, you shouldn't care what people think or say (like me), because someone will over look it.

Teeth are a big part of your attractiveness, but the right guy will like you for you.... corny as it sounds, your teeth wont be the #1 factor.
If you can afford the veneers, id say do it.... and here's why...... not to make guys like you, but to make you like you!
A confident 7 will beat an insecure 9 anyday!

Boo to yellow teeth but boo too to super white teeth. If your teeth are whiter than white-out for instance, or whiter than porcelain, it looks ungodly.
As for your problem, try crest whitestrips, and drink any coloured drinks through a straw, including coffee(not when it's superhot, but noone drinks it when it's boiling hot anyways). This will stop the contact with your teeth and stop the darkening.

i think you should be commended on your success to quit tabacco use. i am in the process to quit myself. as long as you are making the effort to do what you can to whiten your teeth then that speaks volume in your attempts. good job. especially if you as attractive as you portray. it doesnt matter what your teeth look like just smile and know that one day you will have the pearly whites you so deserve. keep on keepin on and you will reach your goal. good luck.

to be honest, i don`t think natural teeth are supposed to be perfectly white!!! yes, some people are born with sparkly white teeth, but tooth shades vary from one person to another...the majority of people who have the perfectly white teeth have achieved that appearance by having cosmetic dentristry or another process done...my teeth are not blindingly white & i have many compliments on my teeth!!! u are doing the right thing by taking care of your teeth, i don`t think u should care so much if they are soooo white or not!!!

I would be more turned off by a girl who is so insecure as to get a bunch of plastic surgery/caps yadda yadda thereby illustrating her own shame in herself, than one who has a few 'scars' so to speak that are a part of her actual history.
