My hard disk constantly spins, and makes very loud annoying sound. I traced the problem to Limewire. Turned off the uploads. Still hard disk kept on spinning. FInally, had to shut Limewire down. The problem has started only recently. Earlier, I was using Limewire without any problems. Please help me use Liewire peacefully again.

If you hear it cranking away, it could be gonna crash, you could try running Defrag and see if that helps, you may just have files all over the place and the drive needs to read everywhere, but chances are it's gonna die soon, so you should back it up and transfer to a new drive.

Hi. Try "Start> Control> Power options>". Set the disks to turn off after 1 minute just for a test. If it works set it where you like.

They spin, thats how they work, it could be going out.
