It is not painful. Yes it is uncomfortable but would you really expect it to feel good if you have this long thing go up inside of you? I have to get one as well to check for possible cysts and i have had one befor when i was pregnant and it does not hurt at all, the most you will feel is a little pressure sort of like you have to pee but thats about it

No its not any more intrusive then having sex, it doesn't hurt at all and they let you insert it yourself. It is kinda weird feeling because its kinda of looks like a play toy and they have to move it so you can get how its kind of embarrassing. But they do it every day so their is nothing to really worry about. Just breathe deep and relax it only lasts for about ten minutes or so. Good luck
