Hi,

Absolute values are always positive (except for zero). So |4| = 4 and |-3| = 3. So 4 + 3 = 7. That's it!

the lines stand for absolute value so that means you make -3 into 3 and make 4 stay the same. then you add 4+3 which makes 7
