Why do some people think they have to bring their dogs EVERYWHERE? Even to the grocery store?!?

I live in So-Cal and people do this all the time. I think it is nonsense. What do you think?

Yikes. This is not permitted in our city unless they are personal assistance dogs (guide dogs, etc).

I would object to store manager.

I hate dogs. They smell bad (even if groomed regularly), they have bad breath, they drool everywhere, they shed fur, they (some of them) are CONSTANTLY barking, and you have to clean up their waste after them. I think people should leave the dogs at home in a fenced in back yard, have a few kids (instead of your "four legged kids" as I've heard some childless couples refer to their dogs) and be normal. Dogs are very dirty creatures and as far as I'm concerned, should be left at home except when you're walking/exercising them. Taking them to the grocery store where people buy foods that they'll consume is NOT exercise. Guide dogs (for the blind/disabled) are the ONLY exception.

Well if they're blind then it's their seeing eye dog. :)

Side note: I use to live in the Mojave desert, and yes you are absolutely right! Staters Brothers, Vons, I'm like what the frick? Why is that doggie leashed to the concrete pillar? And why is he looking at me like he's gonna bite me? :(

I think it's insensitive. Unless they need their dogs for medical purposes, they should not put people who are allergic to dogs at risk.
People argue, "But this is my baby!" Great. Hire a sitter.

I had a neighbor who dressed her dog in baby clothes and took it everywhere she went. If "Precious Baby" wasn't welcome, the woman wouldn't go back - including her church. I can see being attached to your pet, but dang! some folks carry it too far

Ya. I agree. I live in OC and I see them eveywhere. Some people just love their pets I guess ;)
