I want to do a lab practice for showing the Tyndall effect, but I don't have sodium thiosulfate, so what can I use? Does it work with ferric chloride?

Can you make a 2% solution of starch? That works quite well, as does a solution of a protein like bovine serum albumin (maybe 2% or so).
