Was Victorian clothing comfortable if yes why if no why?

Not for women, for sure! You wore binding corsets from a very young age and looks were everything!

The men's fashions also called for a thin waist sometimes, so even they wore girdles and such.

i sincerely doubt if it was comfortable at all, what with all the corsetry, bindings, lacings, stiff materials, etc...i don`t think you`re gonna find too many ladies still alive from that time period to ask , though...

I would assume not for women because of the corsets...they are tightened to the point where one can hardly breathe!!
