I understand that it is a struggle to have a family member with cancer, THOUSANDS of women have cancer. I understand that it must be terrible to lose a child, THOUSANDS of families have lost children. WHY IS THIS AN ISSUE? I think Edwards should stop trying to make himself seem so "special", like he is some kind of super dad/husband. Stick to the issues. There are so many others that have delt with so much more than he has. It makes him look like a dinkus.

No doubt. I am suffering with something worse than cancer. No, I don't have AIDS. It's a birth defect and I get to live with it til' I die, so today I don't give a hoot about Jon Edwards and his crisis. He has money and enough power to get himself into print so we can all feel sorry for him. Well, I don't feel sorry for him at all. I feel sorry for poor Columbians and people like that. People with nothing, starving every day, fulminating sores wracking their tired bodies. That's who I feel SORRY FOR. I wish I had money for THEM. Jon Edwards needs to get off the rags and give some press to someone else.

It's the object of a race to make yourself seem special. Plus, the media is partly to blame for beefing it up. But, due to their openness about the cancer, this allows for a face to be put on the disease, and increasing more awareness about the issue. By putting Elizabeth Edwards' face on the issue of cancer, a national figure for bone cancer, a less broadcasted cancer, is available for the public, and makes the politicians and the scientists consider increasing funding after one of their own publicly suffers from the disease. Now, I'm sorry, but most people would appreciate that. Besides, just like there's the freedom of speech, there's also the freedom to change the channel. No one's ramming this down your throat. Hit a button and it's gone. CSPAN's a blast to watch.

Why is this an issue? The NEWS is making it an issue! Who in the world would want their personal health problems dragged into the public arena?

Moreover, this is bad for his campaign because it brings up some serious questions for Edwards like, "How will you be able to focus on your job with an ailing wife?" I sincerely doubt the Edwards' family is parading around this issue to inspire "sympathy votes" when questions of his (possible) future commitment to the American people is of more dire consequence.

Hmmm, yes, blame the Edwards family instead of the media fascination with it. I'm sure Edwards would rather be getting attention for - what's that he's doing? Ah yes, running for President!

He relatively ought to stay via Elizabeth's area and end his run for the presidency. She's in for an somewhat, relatively tough highway. she is going to wish all of her relatives's help & potential to get by this. Plus a campaign is grueling & difficult to no longer point out hard. this could in simple terms upload to the stress and the pressures of campaigning, i.e. understanding that your spouse is at abode very unwell. For his relatives and himself, John Edwards ought to easily step aside and be together with his spouse.

John Edwards, Yes. His family are not in politics so I don't care, although I wish his wife the best.

I think it's more possitive than him coming out bashing his opponant. Perhaps the focus should be on family and children, then this country would finally be what the constitution was written for it to be. Thank you and may GOD come soon to right the wrongs that have been done on this earth.

Do you have any idea what the hell your saying...he never politicized the death of his son. In fact, when suggested last time on the campaign trail by a strategist to do so, he said absolutely not. You need to get your facts straight.

You are dead on! The way Edwards parades his family and their issues around is almost as disgusting as Kerry is boring.

John Edward is a good man. I am a Republican, so i will never vote for him, but I value his devotion to his wife. I just wish more men were like John Edwards.
