first edwards wife has cancer,now he brings up his son dying 11 yeats ago, looking for sympathy vote?

I am not a political person at all but the Edwards' story touches my heart. I wonder how many of the folks sitting in judgment of Edwards and his family have know what it's like to watch a loved one fight a battle with cancer, especially when the situation is as dire as Mrs. Edwards? I have. You can't sit around waiting for them to die. They wouldn't want you to. They want YOU to get on with your goals and ambitions. Mrs. Edwards has said she is asymptomatic. She is no pain and in no distress. He has said he will come off the campaign trail when she needs him. I see no problem with that.

I am not a democrat, I'm a proud republican and my heart goes out for Edwards wife and their family. I may not agree with alot of jis opinions but no one deserves this. He only began talking about his son's death when reporters started questioning his and his wife's decision to stay on the campaign trail given her medical condition. He used his son's death and how they perservered through that time as an example of how they could overcome adversity together.

I think Edwards is despicable. His need for personal power and greed over ride his personal obligation to his dying wife.
His main concern right now should be spending as much time with his wife as possible and ensuring her last months are as comfortable as possible. But no, he's flying all over trying to fulfill his ambition. What an a..hole and self centered person. I feel NO sympathy for him. All my compassion goes to his wife who is spending her dying days trying to fulfill his
"dream". I wouldn't vote for him for dogcatcher.
