I'm innately skeptical of all media at this point but for the sake of argument, I'll assume it's true.

Attacking Iran at this point would be foolish. We certainly don't have troops available. Iran recently acquired 29 anti-aircraft systems from Russia, and the Gulf and it's littoral waters hampers the maneuverability of our carrier battle groups to the point that major damage or even the sinking of one of our carriers is a real possibility. Submarines as well have trouble maneuvering in the shallow waters. And Iran's army is large and well equipped, and has a border with Iraq.

Iran's ground forces number 350, 000 in the regular army, an additional 390,000 ready reserve, 125,000 special forces of various kinds, and 11 million trained civilians that can be called up.

So I can see how any thinking military man might say "thanks, but no thanks" to getting involved in an armed conflict with Iran.

It is possible. Attacking Iran would clearly not be in America's best interest at this point in time. There are plenty of other options still on the table to deal with them before the military option. We should not take the military option off the table, but should pursue all other options first before taking military action.

No one wants a war with Iran (with the exception of a few republicans I know)
This administration has fumbled around so much that it has become painfully clear to us and the rest of the world this white house cannot be trusted. Bush picked the wrong war.
So yes I would say that could very well be true. They don't like to fight wars they can't win.

If this is true, those Generals must now be immediately Court Marshaled for Insubordination, Subversion and Cowardice in front of the Enemy...they can not chose which wars they will fight...I really doubt this is a true story, just more Liberal Propaganda...I have not known any Combat Arms General who would not fight whoever...
