Absolutely not! I wouldn't want to take that chance. I understand sperm washing, but I still wouldn't want to take the chance.

I'll personally never be in the market for donated sperm, but I think that the only actual use for those mens' sperm would be to a known recipient (wife, gfriend). Since its currently outlawed in California, the only way those men can impregnate their partner is through conventional sex, thus exposing them to HIV/AIDS. The washing process gets rid of the virus, thus allowing a safe impregnation. No where in the article did I get the feeling that those would be public donations, but even if they were it sounds as though there would be no potential for spread of disease.
