Because he was projected as a real American hero by the media, I suspect that Tillman's mother will be given a pass by the public. I don't think she will be demonized as some "loony leftist liberal." If she is not demonized, would that be a double standard?

Maybe Pat Tillman felt that the Afganistan war was a mistake and he shared info with his mother. Why would she lie about something like that.
The good that could come of this is that the Government and the Pentagon are using propaganda through the media to justify war.
We should all be aware.

Pat Tillman’s mother has stated regarding her son’s death:
“They made up a story. It was presented on national television. And we believe they did that to promote the war.”
Sounds as if she could become a target of the neocon, pro-war, Bush-supporting attack machine.

I listened to an interview on ESPN radio's Dan Patrick show where she was given an opportunity to voice her opinion. She seemed like a reasonable person however what struck me as a surprise was her comments regarding Pat Tillman's opinions on the war. She claimed he was against the war and after being deployed to Afghanistan she claimed that he said it was a mistake to be over there.
Everything I heard up to this point was that he was proud to serve his country. He gave up millions of dollars to enlist in one of the most combat ready group the Rangers.
Of coarse his mother is upset with the military's handling of the situation. But it seemed like this was a tragic death a mistake. Know she seems that she's just trying to stir up controversy saying that her son was against the war, I don't see what good can know come out of this. But then I've always been told to watch out for a mother's scorn. So she could be the next Cindy Sheehan because I don't see her going anywhere soon.

Kevin Tillman is entitled to his opinion and it consists of some weight because of his militia provider. I do think of he's conversing out of anger for the dying of his brother and perchance this is comprehensible. That differs significantly from the lame attempt by potential of Democrats to trot out "untouchables" like Cindy Sheehan to help them beat Republicans. by potential of putting up people who've misplaced family individuals or who served in the militia, they attempt to insulate those applicants and spokespeople from any grievance. this is remarkable that Democrats are so prepared to furnish a platform for militia people who desire to criticized the conflict, yet do no longer do an analogous for those courageous people who served and consider our place. i'm uncertain what you call that form of habit.

Cindy Sheehan entered the fray with her "mind" already made up. Long before he son enlisted she was profoundly anti-military and openly speaks of her confusion when her son opted to enlist - I suspect he did so to get the h*ll away from her. Tillman's mom is expressing frustration with the military bureaucracy - a not uncommon situation for anyone who has encountered it. Considering the media has no boundaries it hard to predict what will happen with her.

I don't think even the NeoCons are that dumb...but I may be wrong. I'm sure she will be labeled a "conspiracy nut" in the near future.
Does anyone remember when Bush Sr. told the POW/MIA wives to "sit down and shut up" during the 1992 campaign? They are a charming bunch.

I know, lets stop demonizing victims of injustice.
That avoids the double-standard problem.
So, her son was murdered and the murder covered up.
Do you expect her to send thank-you flowers to those responsible?

I think she has every right to speak her mind, she laid on the largest costs to freedom on the table, and has been mislead since the begining.

Well I think Pats mom just wants to know the truth about his death. Cindy Sheenan is using her sons death to further her own political agendas. Cindy Sheenans son VOLUNTEERED for his second tour of Iraq because he thought it was right. Even though Cindy knew this, she still uses his death to justify her own political agendas.
