It is simple, if you look at or feel one side of the top of your mouth you will have 2 incisors, 1 canine, 2 premolars and 3 molars or 2 molars if you wisdom teeth have been removed. You have the same pattern on the other side of the top of your mouth and the same pattern for your bottom teeth.

there are 32 teeth in the common adult.
For 1 quadrant it is 3 (molars) 2 (premolars) 1 (canine) 2 (incisors) x 2 =16. That is just for one arch (either maxillary or mandibular)And 16 x 2 arches= 32
Although some people never develop wisdom teeth (3rd molars) but commonly everyone has 32 teeth. Sometimes people can also have supernumery teeth (extra teeth) but the equation is for the average adult.
so equation is (3+2+1+2) x 2 = 16 x 2= 32 total teeth.
