Depending on which state you're in, you should most likely stay in your house and call the police.
You did not mention if a gray uniform is used by one of your local police departments. If this person is a police officer and you shoot him, there is almost no defense that you will be able to mount in a court.
Most states have a "duty to retreat" as part of their laws on self defense, which says that if you have any way of getting away from an attacker, you are legally bound to do so. (A notable exception to this is Texas.)

Put down your weapon and sign for the package. That is a clipboard and pen he's carrying. Adjust your camo binoculars and take another look.

You better not shoot him unless
he comes in your house.
If you feel threatened in any way...
Dial 911 and don't hang up.
Now you know why a blue tooth
comes in handy... Service people
usually announce themselves.
The police certainly do. Just call.

I would suggest you call the police and see if this could be one of their officers...if it isn't, i would tell them to get some over there right away...
