I RECENTLY GOT MY SUPPORT MODIFIED AND THE FATHER CONTESTED THE AMOUNT SO THEY STOPPED MY SUPPORT COMPLETELY SINCE NOV 06, THE HEARING WAS 2/5/07, HE WITHDREW HIS APPEAL AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CASE WOULD GO BACK TO THE MODIFIED AMOUNT....NOW IT IS 3/29/07 AND I CAN NOT GET ANY RESPONSE FROM THE PEORI ILLINOIS OFFICE ON WHY IT IS TAKING SO LONG. THE SPRINGFIELD 800# CAN NOT HELP BECAUSE THEY TAKE DIRECTION FROM THE PEORIA OFFICE DIRECTLY, SO ALL THEY TELL ME THEY ARE WAITING ON THE PEORIA OFFICE TO ISSUE THE MODIFICATION PAPERS TO SETUP AGAIN. I CAN GO ONLINE BUT EVERYTHING IS STILL SHOWING A ZERO AMOUNT???? WHOELSE WOULD I BE ABLE TO CALL TO GET HELP?

Peoria Region 2011 N. Knoxville Avenue Peoria, Illinois 61603-2414 Toll Free: Voice: Fax: 877-409-2663 309-686-7800 309-686-7830 or 309-686-7879. Counties served: Fulton, Henderson, Henry, Knox, Marshall, McLean, Mercer, Peoria, Rock Island, Stark, Tazewell, Warren, Woodford

They cannot 'just stop' support. They need a court order to do so. I would assume he just stopped paying-although your order was still running. So he would still owe your for the 4 months he did not pay.........

Good Luck!

Find an attorney licensed in Illinois to check into it for you.

your going about it the wrong way.... phone calls are useless; they are forgotten, ignored and denied.

1) you need to FAX them (both states) and it'll be fixed dam fast.

sit down and write a letter. in it, give your contact info, case number, his info, arrears amount, the problem of them waiting on the PEORIA office for paperwork.... recieving no support due to it not being active. tell them you dont understand what the problem is and ask them what they can do about it.

keep the letter short, its more effective that way.

then take that ONE letter and FAX it to the following:
a) your states Attorney General (link is below)
b) your states Governor (link is below)
c) your states child support dept
d) your states Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office (link is below)

FAX it to both state reps listed....ONE letter, 8 places to fax to.

phone calls are useless; they are ignored, denied and forgotten. mail ends up on someones "to do" pile, but FAXES are effective. its proof you sent it and proof they recieved it, therefor, they HAVE to address it.

if you cant find a fax number (most are listed online) then simply call them and ask for it.

2) after ALL faxes are sent, call to confirm its receipt... and call your states caseworker in a couple days to ask for the case status. its the squeaky wheel that gets the oil, if ya know what i mean.
