I'm from the asian culture, when we were growing up, my parents always gave us girls ultimatums, that we were to choose between our parents or move out with boyfriends. We always choose our parents, in Chinese culture, parents came first, love was the least in our mind when we were teens, do American girls choose their boyfriends first?

Honey, parents are the way to go. Men will be in and out of you life (and half of them are player's anyway!!) but your parents raised you and gave you the best life they knew how to give. They'll always be there for you no matter how strict they are.
I know of many girls who have left their parents for their boyfriend and they've been divorced or kicked out at least 2 years later. Who do those girls have now?? No one because they've pushed everyone away.

Well first of all it depends on how old are you? Are you old enough to understand the difference between puppy love and real love? Secondly it depends on if you are ready for the big commitment in choosing your boyfriend over your parents. Parents are here forever, boyfriends aren't. And yes in the american culture we tend to choose boyfriends over parents and most of the time it turns out for the wrong, because most girls that turn away from their parents to be closer to their boyfriends always choose the wrong guy. But its all up to you in choosing between what could be a really great guy and possibly your soul mate for life or your parents. Its going to take a lot of thinking and either way will be tough but I hope it all works out for you in the end

Choose the parents. They gave you life, have fed you, and taken care of you from the beginning. Most of teen relationships will fail quickly and soon a girl in that situation would be left without boyfriend, parents, or a house.

Anyone who says most American girls choose boyfriends over parents is truly clueless. As a "boyfriend" I would actually prefer she choose her parents over me. I don't want to be some girls excuse for rebellion. If she and I are truly in love, we will attempt to do the things required by her family for acceptance but, will also let them know (tactfully) that we are not them and must do what we feel is best for us.

If you are really in love and old enough to make choices you should follow your heart because if your parents want you to be happy they will stand beside you know matter what choice that you make. your not choosing your boyfriend first you need to choose happiness. Just do what your feel is the right thing make your self happy and let your mom and dad know that know matter were life Will take you that you will always love them. Good luck!!!!

Choose your parents first. Your parents will be with you forever, relationships come and go. I am an american female and I have a few hmong friends and know that life style. I think it would hurt you more to leave your parents, unless you were FOR SURE certain that you plan on living forever with your significant other.

American girls do, if they are stupid. I for one would choose my family first. I do see girls that let boyfriends come between them and their parents. I am older now and understand a lot more. Parents generally seem to know what is right and best for us, even if we don't want to admit it.

It depends on how old I am at the time (I'm only 12 now) &
If I've been with my 'boyfriend' for long enough and I trust him, I would go with him. I think it would be the right timg to do becuase a person can only depend on their parents for so long.
