It's not rigged, but the system IS flawed. Sanjaya could win because a lot of people, including Howard Stern are telling people to vote for the worst.

Once the group is small enough the older crowd will be voting for one person and will out vote all the teeny bobs that are voting for Sanjaya.
At this point, I think Sanjaya knows he won't win based on his singing, but will keep the votes by people wondering just what outrageous thing he will do with his hair next week.

I am beginning to agree with you on the rigged part, i am almostto the point where i don't even want to watch it anymore!!! Oh god I hope Sanjaya doesn't win it all but with it going the way it has been you never know!!!!

It doesnt matter how much we all vote, sites like votefortheworst.com are helping make sure Senjaya gets the votes. Plus he does have a huge younger crowd that loves him. He will probably win it! But in order for him to do that, Lakisha and Melinda will have to do a couple of bad performances and I dont see that happening so it will come down to Lakisha, Melinda and Senjaya and then probably Senjaya and Melinda and then it will shock the world and end the show when Senjaya wins! Simon will quit the show and the whole show might not air anymore due to sites like this doing that. Too bad that people with no lives gotta go out and fu*k everything up!

it isn't 'rigged' -- but it's 'produced' -- just like every other reality show.
people don't seem to realize that reality is BORING. but if it's scripted and idiots trying to take their mind off the war will fall for it, thinking it's real... there you have it.
i heard of someone trying out for the show, he didn't make the first cut. a few weeks later he was walking down the streets of LA and saw one of the guys on the panel -- he struck up a conversation with how he remembered him and the judge immediately remembered "oh, yes -- you did [name of song], that was really well done!"
the guy replies quickly with "well, if it was so great, why didn't I make the cut?"
the judge told him that honestly, they weren't looking for talent -- they were looking for a freakshow. people tune in for that -- thank William Hung for that.

I don't think it's rigged. People just want to keep him around to see the controversy and see his hair. I hope he doesn't, I don't think America is that stupid, Blake, Melinda, Lakeisha and Chris all deserve to win.
