Maybe this obsessin is taking over because your mind doesn't want to focus on a real problem you may have. It's a safe area to have a crush on someone who is unreachable. Make a list of pros and cons and another list of what attracts you to him then make a list of things you are concerned about.

Youre not in need of medical help. You just have a crush. Its ok. Ive been there. I would try to get control of it though. You most likely will never meet Jude, and you dont want to ruin your marriage.*

How long have you had this 'obsession'
Obsessive thinking is an emotional defense that, like all of the various manifestations of codependency, is dysfunctional. Being in our heads - thinking, fantasizing, ruminating - is a defense we adapted in childhood to help us disassociate from the emotional pain we were experiencing. It is dysfunctional because it keeps us focused on the future or the past - we miss out on being alive today. It is dysfunctional because our attempts to escape unpleasant feelings causes us to generate more unpleasant feelings.
Obsessions: Persistent thoughts, ideas, impulses or images that are intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress. Individuals with obsessions usually attempt to ignore or suppress such thoughts or impulses or to counteract them by other thoughts or actions (compulsions).
I think you will get over the 'crush', i think your causing your self anxiety from constantly thinking about something you don't have and never will have. You need to distract yourself from your obsession, maybe focus your thoughts on your husband instead.. if you find the obsession to become a 24/7 thing I'd advise you to go and have a counselling session. If you find yourself becoming angry and getting axiety, and carrying your lifestyle in a particular way where your repeating actions and behaviours to calm your anxieties, you may have developed OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder.
However i honestly think you just have a crush, and it will pass in time =D, everybodies had them at one time or another!

Nah, your not in love and you have no medical problem.
I thnk it happens to everyone eventually. I bet you'll get over it soon enough.
Do you know who he is? Do you know anything about him that the poperatzis don't know about him? You really can't be in love with someone who haven't met. Thats what I tell myself.

Maybe you should go to a therapist. I'm pretty sure you don't want to be like the guy who tried to kill Reagan to impress Jodie Foster.
