For the women who play basketball

There is no real way to tell. I play varsity basketball at my high school and I'm better than most of the guys on their team, and they were in the state tournament. But the reasoning on that is, I'm really tall for a female (6'3) and stronger than most females, and I'm the biggest workhorse gymrat in my district... Honestly any woman could be better than a man, it depends on how much you practice.Males, by nature, are more athletic therefore a woman would have to work 3 or 4 times as hard to be as good as the men. But most females are too busy getting their hair and nails done to worry with practicing. Now, i'm not saying I'm not feminine, but alot of times theres just too much femininity then women want to say they are better than the guys. It is individual talent. I know a girl on my team who can dunk better than most of the varsity guys, and most of them are 6'2-6'8 and one guy is 6'11 so....yeah if they work hard they can be but most cases its not true.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh,,,, no, they are not even CLOSE,,,, what even makes you think women are even close. Do you really think this is the case???? look at the WNBA,,, it is terrible look at the past "Pro" leagues that have been. They were terrible. I am no chavanistic prick either,,, I probably didn't even spell it right. It's just a fact. I have no problem with women being good at sports. As a matter of fact I know that you can take a girl from high school who is an exceptional golfer, bowler or tennis player and they are going to kick the crap out of guys of all ages at the game,,,, now those are just a few of the games but when it comes right down the best on the planet, men have proven to be the best. The question is silly!

Honestly no. I consider myself stronger, more athletic, etc than average, but let's be honest. The women's game is more team oriented but the athleticism (in general) is not nearly as good as the men. The men are taller, can jump higher, have more quickness, etc. Heck, we don't even use the same size ball. If you put the worst NBA team up against the WNBA champions, the guys would win by seventy points.

I hate to say it, but I see way too many short shots missed in the women's game. There are some things we can compete in physically against men, but when you look at the whole, even a really good pro women's team would have trouble beating a top notch high school men's program.

No! Sorry. You have the speed, but no size, hight, ups, and most girls that I've played with and seen in the WNBA, don't have the best footwork. The WNBA is just like collage ball, lots of I'll advised shots followed by bad post rebounding. Lisa Lezley would be the only know exception to this in the WNBA! I stopped watching cuz of this. In your defense ladies, there aren't many NBA players with great foot work. Kobe, Nash, Dirk, King James and AI are some that are top notch in the NBA!

Pink I'm sorry to say that you are wrong and I am making this statement as a former women's college b-ball player. You simply can't compare women against males in any athletic setting, it just doesn't work. That's like comparing an NFL football player's athleticism to an NBA player's. There is simply no comparison. I do think women are highly athletic, but in our own gender. There is never a need to crossover and compare our strengths and and weaknesses against a mans. EVER.

I think that after watching some of the women's tournament simply due to the speed/strength/height thing women have to be more fundamentally sound. They also have to play more aggressively on defense which is why sometimes the game looks sloppy. You couldn't have some woman playing with the skill set of say Shaq. It just wouldn't work.

No you're not. College women's teams practice against male practice squads. They do that here at maryland. The men usually win. The guys that play on the practice squads are ex-HS players who didnt get a scholarship to play any where. So, false men > women at basketball.

Men, even Cheryll Miller mentioned the slowest NBA gamers might zoom beyond her. She was once one of the vital fine ladies ever, and attempted out for the Pacers, however did not make it. That proves that Marbury is greater than Candace Parker!

Just stop... please! Take the best women's professional player and pit them against the best men's. Who would win? The men every time. Take an all star team of professional women and pit them against any D1 college men's team and the men would win every time. It's really not even worth the argument.
