The guvment should fulfill the promises made to my people after the Civil War. However, seeing as a horse ain't worth that much anymore I figure an a Cadillac is worth the equivalent of a horse circa 1865.

Slavery is long over. We can neither change nor fix what happened in the 1800's. Get over it. Stop wanting somthing for somthing that happend 100's of years ago. If you work hard and educate your slef you can afford your own cadillac or what ever you want. Look on the bright side you could still be in africa where Aids and HIV are rampany and near 70% in certain areas and villages where you may have come from.

I have given the escalade and acreage over and over again. I am in a very high tax bracket, have no children and I see on a regular basis where my tax dollars go. I also just got finished paying back 50k in student loans because I got no financial aid due to the color of my skin when some of my African American roomates got their education paid for in full. (We all had the same background, family income, etc..but different skin colors)..So No, I respectfully disagree.

Today's gov't is the progeny of that same gov't that stole our country , kidnapped us, and who continue to hold us hostage in the worst way (mentally and spiritually) right to this present moment. To return to us even a portion of what is rightfully ours, or to allow us, as a nation of people, to have anything of substance by which we can go and do for self would be defeating their purpose for kidnapping us and holding us hostage here in America for all this time in the first place. Be real. Who are you gonna ask for the restoration? If you had power, position, and wealth, would you give it up freely just because the people you took it from said it was the right thing to do?!!! Were the promises (treaties) to our Native American brothers honored ? We're living on stolen property right now! Now I agree that we should be granted tangible justice. However, I am also of the strong opinion (based on common sense) that we should first seek to be restored to our SELF. The government should, if anything give us back (restore/reteach) our names, our religion, our culture, our God, our sense of community, our folkways, mores, genius, etc. Give us peace so that we can, in peace, begin to truly love ourselves again as a people. Give us our own schools. None of this should come with a price - it's called Reparations - to be repaired - to be made new/whole/productive/self-determined/self-sufficient/self-sustaining... Without the true knowledge of Self, we'll have the 40 acres and a mule one day and the same gov't will have it back the next - one way or another. True, petition for what is ours - this is our duty to ourselves. But along with this we need to return to the gov't what is rightfully theirs - marijuana, crack, strong drink, promiscuity, homosexuality, violence, profanity, sodomy, beastiality, self-hatred (yes, self-hatred) , lying, deceit, envy, pagan holidays and celebrations of orgies(Christmas, Easter, Valentines, Halloween)and ?ALLl ungodliness. Fair is fair. They give us what is ours and we give them what is theirs. If we do this, we will have far more than the value of 40 acres and a mule or an Escalade. We'll have the favor of God. Now a Good Father defends and fends for his obedient child, don't you think? Quiet as it's kept, the "40 acres and a mule" are already restored, we're just not
ready to take on the responsibilty of ownership.
Who decides that? Not the gov't. But just hold on, it's all coming: Genesis: ..."We shall come out with great substance..." Peace.

I think you need to get real, get a job and get your Escalade and those 40 acres you seem to want so badly. We got our 40 acres and more. Unreal!!!!

Agreed, but I must insist a "one way ticket back" be included in your generous package deal.

The government promised ex-slaves. Are you an ex-slave? No? Too damn bad.

The government did give blacks their 40 acres. In fact a whole country that was owned and run by blacks called Liberia. It didn't take them long to mess that country up.

Then there's the billions of dollars spent on welfare and billions lost in the economy due to inefficiency because of affirmative action programs.

In reality, blacks got MORE than their 40 acres and they messed it up.
