OK take the plant out of the pot if the roots are all together separate them and make a hole in the gravel and place the plant in it and then cover the plant with gravel.. you can also separate the same plant instead of buying more and put them in different parts of the aquarium

You can do either. The plant will be fine for quite a while in a pot. If you want to remove it from the pot start by looking at the plant carefully. Notice where the potting material stops and starts then gently take the pot and all the potting material off the plants roots. Place the plant in the gravel with the roots as well sread out as possible and bury it only as deep as it was in the pot. Be sure not to cover the crown, that's the place all of the leaf stems come together into a bunch.

The stuff in the pot is called rock wool. Its like fiberglass or steel wool, but made out of a lava rock. Its what they grow plants hydroponicaly in. Its pretty much inert & only the chunks of displaced plant inside of it should rot over time. Unless its a heavy iron consumer like a sword plant, you can leave it on based on your personal preference. Heavy substrate iron suckers should have the rock wool removed.

I tend to peel the rock wool away from the plants like layers of banana peel. When I get close to the body of the plant, I'll leave a bit of it on if it seems like i'm going to be tearing away lots of roots just for the sake of getting it off.

Either way it doesn't matter too much.
