I would like to go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast at the Contemporary. We'll be staying at the dolphin (part of Swan/Dolphin complex). How would I get there and how long would it take? We will not have a car (and don't want to pay for taxi).... Thanks!

I've actually made that same trip by taking the following route:

Hop on a bus at the Dolphin to the Magic Kingdom. You'll be dropped off right at the front entrance.

There's a walkway directly to the Contemporary -- takes less than 5 minutes to get there.

Entire trip should take less than 30 minutes!

I think the easiest way (and the way that I took last visit, and will be using again in April for my own Character breakfast at Chef Mickey's) is to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom, then hop on the monorail to the Contemporary. The busses to the MK start pretty early, as does the monorail. I know that you can walk over to the Contemporary, but my kids will take any excuse to ride the monorail, and pulling into the resot like that is pretty cool. You should have no problems with this route.

I hear this question alot. I'd have to agree with the other post. Take a bus directly to the Magic Kingdom and then just walk right over to the Contemporary. The other option is that if there is a bus heading over to the Ticket and Transportation Center (ask a cast member which bus would arrive sooner). You can take that bus and then hop onto the resort monorail which will drop you off at the Contemporary.

Since Disney's buses don't go directly from resort to resort, you will to take the bus to a theme park, EPCOT may be the quickest. Then you would take a bus from the park to the Contemporary. You could also take the monorail at EPCOT and then switch to the monorail for Contemporary at the Ticket and Transportation Center.

It will probably take close to an hour, since you have to get to a park first and then transfer over.

The walkway between Magic Kingdom and Contemporary would be another option, or you could take the monorail from Magic Kingdom. However, since you have a young child, I'm not sure if you would want to take the walk, it takes about 10 minutes or so, depending on how fast you move. If you plan to take the monorail, I think it would still be a little faster to go to EPCOT.

If you call Disney, they will give you an estimate for the time to leave for your breakfast.

Hope this helps!

Go from Dolphin to Magic Kingdom by bus and then hop on the monorail to Contemporary.

Since you're staying in the Epcot area you might consider the Cape May character breakfast at the Beach and Yacht Club. It's a short walk from the Dolphin.
