I completely understand what the ACLU does and I think they are a very important piece of our culture. But sometime they have to draw the line such as parental rights, NAMBLA. Some of this stuff is ridiculous. I think as a society we need to stand up against some of these immoral judgements. Any thoughts?

The ACLU doesn't make value decisions case by case as it isn't their mission. Their goal is to ensure all have equal opportunity to excercise their constitutional rights. They don't represent individuals for the individuals they do so because it's in society's best interest that these rights don't erode.

Although, they don't pursue the right to bear arms. I think that they should as it's a constitutional right although I think I understand why they don't. A lot of funding probably comes from the left as the Christian right has taken an ill view of them and as such they'd anger a lot (not all) of their funders if they were to defend the right to bear arms.

The ACLU is not concerned about right and wrong--they are concerned with protecting the Constitution.

By protecting Nambla's civil rights, the ACLU is ensuring that everyone's civil rights are protected.

You must have a problem with the US Constitution if you have a problem with the ACLU.
