I am a little over 31 weeks and my ultrasound yesterday said that my baby weighes 4 lbs. 3 oz already. I know these can be off a little, but this ultrasound tech is really good. Does this mean if I carry to term my baby is going to be huge, or is this about average at this point? Thanks

I wouldn't worry about having a huge baby. I had a similar experience with my 2nd child. They told me that according to the fetal weight, my baby was going to be 8.5 lbs. or more. He ended up being 7lbs.13 oz. much to my relief.

The answer to your question is at 31 weeks this is month 29-32 weeks your baby is supose to weight about 4 pounds. At weeks 33-36 your baby should weigh 6 pounds and then at 37-40 your baby should be about 7 and half pounds . That is the avg. baby weight so relax! You are normal. Congrads momma. :) Have a good day.

My oldest daughter at 32 weeks weighed apporximately 5 pounds and at birth weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and was 21 1/2" long. Not a small baby but not an overly large on either.

Ultrasounds can be so inaccurate. I had one done at around 35 weeks and between the scan and the size of my belly, the doctor said my baby would be close to 9 lbs. She was 7 lbs 11 ounces. Don't stress yourself thinking that your baby is going to be too big.

Ultrasounds could be off by utilising as much as a pound (in the two course). there are a number of females people who declare their ultrasound became off by utilising as much as two pounds. The 'guess the load' this form: There are 4 measurements that are many times prepared on an ultrasound with a view to estimate the load of the toddler. those are the biparietal (sideways around the toddler's head) diameter, the toddler's head circumference, the abdomen circumference and the dimensions of the toddler's femur (thigh bone.) utilising those measurements, the sonographer makes use of numerous equations to return up with a weight estimate of your toddler. With my 2nd, I had an ultrasound on Thursday. The *guess* on weight became 5 pounds 12 oz. He became born on Saturday (2 days later) and weighed 5 pounds 9 oz. So, for that youngster the ultrasound guess became quite close. That being reported, I had considered many, many incorrect guesses on ultrasounds, and that they are very almost *constantly* bigger in length than smaller.

He/she is still within the normal range. Best guess, if you go 40 weeks you'll probably have a 8 and half to 9 pounder.
