my situation is somewhat complicated. my last period was Feb.6th. well about that time i decided to start a package of bc pills ( i havnt been on bc for about a year) well i wasnt very good at taking them and well it took me about a week and a half to two weeks to finish the first week of pills. so i gave up on even trying to take them. so on about Feb.14th (maybe 15th) i started having the brown stringy discharge(sorry...) i assumed was because i wasnt taking the pills anymore. well since than i havnt had my period yet. that makes me 7.5 weeks since my last period and 6 weeks since the discharge. i took two test last wednesday and friday. and another this wast tuesday( that one was in the middle of the day) and all 3 were negative. could a week of birth control pills cause that much of a delay or am i just not getting a postive test yet?? i am confused cause i dont have any of the pregnancy symptoms either.

since being off birth control for a year i am never late, maybe a day or two but not 3 weeks. can one week of pills really cause that much of a period delay?

1) What is wrong with taking the pills? I would see the doctor.

2) You're not pregnant, but it was probably an issue with your birth control pack. If you had unprotected sex, you could be pregnant but I would make an appointment with your doctor to dicuss the birth control.

Well there are a few possiblities.... Probably the pill messed up your system. It messed mine up a lot so i do know about this. i would doubt you are pregnant if the tests after thei length of time are saying negative. It might be worth talking to your Dr just to put your mind at rest...I know how torturing it can be not knowing! Im the worlds greatest coward but in this case knowledge would be better. I think it likely you just managed to delay your period a biit with the pill taking and not being consistant...

Good luck!!

You messed with your cycle by getting on and off the pill and not taking them regular. This is normal and it may take a month or 2 for it to straighten back out. If you are wanting to have a baby the stress of trying will usually cause you to be late. IF you are still concerned then call your doctor and explain what your situation. I hope this helps.

It might be cause you stop the pill and your body is just quite confused.

Since all your test are coming out negative, you might still be pregnant I dont know, many women do not show a positive.
BUT do you have a history of late periods?

I would definately make an appointment with your doctor and get it checked out, at least he/she can do blood work and tell you for sure if you are pregnant put your mind at ease.

I know that taking BC irregularly can cause you AF to be really messed up. My suggestion to you would be to make an appointment with your Dr. That way he/she can order a blood test to see if you are indeed pregnant. I had a friend that was SIX MONTHS before she found out that she was expecting...and she is a pharmcist!!! So, sometimes the urine tests don't work for some women. Good luck to you and hope this helps! :)

BC if anything is supposed to help regulate your period. I would go to the DR. and have a blood test done your hcg may not be strong enough in urine a blood test will def. tell u. and as far as not having any symptoms I didn't have any until about 3 months no sickness or anything. so def. go to the doctor and you will find out for sure and no more buying those expensive tests!!

They make birth control pills now-a-days that are designed to shorten the amount of periods you have. You may want to check with your doctor.

It sounds to me like you "tricked" your body into having a period 6 weeks ago, and it's just taking time to reset itself from your inconsistent use of hormone supplements (birth control).

You can have a false negative but not a false possitive. Go see your doctor for a test.
