My Dear Old Aunt, a 1st Grade Teacher of 50 years, had an eagle claw Bath Tub in her classroom. The tub was lined with soft carpet.

If a child brought a can of food, or other item suitable for donation, to school; they were allowed to sit in the tub and 'read' for 5 or 10 minutes.

They had to read, could not play. She had great results and at the end of the year the children would donate the items to a charity.
